Please contact the Construction Code Department at 908-832-5552 to schedule an inspection. The Construction Department is located at 108 Fairmount Road West, Califon, NJ 07830 (County Route 512).  The department hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30am - 3:00pm.

The construction office is an interlocal between Tewksbury Township, Lebanon Township, and Califon Borough for building permit applications and inspections only. Once the permit has received final inspection and closed, all files regarding the property will be forwarded and filed with the correct municipality. 

You can obtain a Construction Permit Application Package at the Construction Code Department or in the Municipal Building vestibule. Complete the application(s) and submit the package to the Contruction Code Department for review.  Please drop off or mail all correspondence and permit applications directly to the following address:
108 Fairmount Road West Califon NJ 07830.

When the plan review process is complete, the applicant will be notified of the permit fee. If the application is incomplete, the applicant will be notified of the missing information.

Work can be started when fees are paid and the Construction Permit is issued.

The Construction Code Department administers and enforces the Uniform Construction Code (NJAC 5:23) by processing applications for new and existing buildings and structures, reviewing plans and applications for compliance with the UCC, scheduling inspections and issuing Certificates of Occupancy and Certificates of Approvals.
