Rx Drop Off Box
A permanent prescription (Rx) drop-off box has been installed in the lobby of the Tewksbury Police/Administration building located at 167 Old Turnpike Road (Route 517).

Expired and unused prescription drugs can be dropped off at the box in the lobby between the hours of 8:00am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday.

If you have medicine to drop off after 3:30 p.m. or on weekends, call 908-439-2503 and ask to have an officer call you.

The Rx drop-off box is safe and anonymous and can help prevent prescription drug abuse. Tips for disposal:

  • Keep the prescription drugs in the original container with all contact and Rx information covered by a permanent marker or removed from the container.
  • Do not put the medications in a baggie.
  • Syringes and liquids are not accepted at an Rx box; however, arrangements can be made with Undersheriff Smith of the Hunterdon County Sheriff's Office for proper disposal of syringes.

The Tewksbury Township Rx drop-off box was made possible by the efforts of a local resident and student, Alexandra Obszanski, as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award project and assistance from the Safe Coalition organization.
